What types of cyber threats does Watchtower CTI monitor for schools?
We monitor numerous threat intelligence feeds and identify emerging threats that are specific to K-12 and higher education. For our Essential and Premium clients, we also monitor threats targeting the various hardware manufacturers that are specified for your specific institution. We curate the most pressing threats and deliver specific actions to take to mitigate those threats.
How does Watchtower CTI tailor intelligence to my institution’s unique technology stack?
For all of our plans, we monitor both Microsoft M365 and Google Workspace for Education and provide threat intelligence for those Suites in your email briefs. If you sign up for the Essential or Premium Plan, during the onboarding process, you have the opportunity to identify the core components to your technology stack. Using that list, our analysts then curate threat data based on your specified hardware/software in addition to the standard threat vectors for the education sector.
Can Watchtower CTI help reduce false positives and alert fatigue for busy IT teams?
Yes, we focus on minimizing noise by filtering and prioritizing threats that truly impact your environment. That is perhaps the biggest benefit that Watchtower CTI provides, we only send relevant threat information and action items. By providing only a filtered brief, it dramatically reduces the amount of alert fatigue experienced by your technical staff. We fully recognize that a vast majority of our clients do not have a dedicated cyber security team and we do our best to help your teams efficiently stay on top of the flood of threats, we will only send an intel brief if it truly matters.
Does Watchtower CTI provide incident response?
No, not at this time. We are threat intelligence specialists and focus only on delivering the best and most focused threat intelligence we can. We may expand our offerings in the future, but for now, we focus only on CTI.
Why can’t I signup online or manage my account in a portal?
This is a very good question and one of the things on our to-do list. But it is not a critical function. The most important part about Watchtower CTI is to provide the very best Threat Intelligence we can to the education sector, and that is where all of our energy is being focused during the early stages of our business development. We can onboard institutions by hand for now while we continue to fine tune our CTI offering. That is priority #1.
